The short answer
Anytime AI builds AI agents for complex injury work, such as nursing home, malpractice, TBI and trucking cases, and plugs into SmartAdvocate, Litify and your existing storage. PlaintiffStack is a case management system for California PI, workers' comp and employment with AI case tools inside it. Choose Anytime AI if
- Your cases are complex and records-heavy: nursing home, malpractice, TBI or trucking.
- You want custom agents built around your firm's templates and workflows.
- You run SmartAdvocate or Litify and want AI that syncs with it.
- You need scanned records read, or you practice outside California.
Choose PlaintiffStack if
- You want case management and AI in one system rather than two.
- You run California workers' comp or employment cases as well as PI.
- You want a published price: $250 per case with every app included.
- You want a BAA signed with your firm before any client data arrives.
What Anytime AI does
Anytime AI was co-founded in 2023 by Lingfei (Teddy) Wu, Henry Hu and Yu (Hugo) Chen and is based in White Plains, New York. It raised a $4M seed round in September 2024 led by Gopher Asset Management US and Kao Family Office, with law firms and angel investors taking part.
Its current product, Anytime AI 3.0, is an agent platform for plaintiff firms. Built-in agents handle medical chronologies and overviews, demand letters, discovery responses, negligence and staffing analysis, legal research and drafting. Firms can have custom agents built to their own templates and workflows, by Anytime AI's team or themselves. Its focus is complex injury work: medical malpractice, nursing home and elder abuse, traumatic brain injury and trucking, alongside general personal injury.
Where Anytime AI is strong
- Complex cases. Negligence and staffing analysis for nursing home cases is a narrow, valuable skill few tools offer.
- Custom agents. A firm can encode its own way of working rather than adopting a vendor's template.
- Fits your stack. It names SmartAdvocate and Litify, syncs files automatically from your system, and connects to Microsoft email and calendar.
- Traceable output. Findings link back to source pages, and attorneys review agent output.
- Security choices. It lists SOC 2, HIPAA, no training on client data, and firm-held encryption keys.
Where PlaintiffStack differs
PlaintiffStack is a case management system with AI case tools inside it, not an AI layer over another system. Intake, matters, tasks, the calendar, documents, the client portal and the settlement statement share one record with the agents, and agents propose facts, deadlines and tasks that wait for a person to accept them. See Matters and Automate.
It is built for three practices on California rules, two of which Anytime AI doesn't target: PI, workers' comp and employment. Deadlines such as the six-month government claim and CCP 999 time-limited demands are computed and shown with their rule and basis so your team can confirm them.
Where Anytime AI is ahead:
- Scanned records. Its 2024 funding release lists OCR among its methods. PlaintiffStack has no OCR yet: scans and faxes aren't read.
- Complex-case analysis. PlaintiffStack has no nursing home staffing analysis, discovery response agent or legal research tool.
- Custom agents. PlaintiffStack's Train playbooks tell its built-in tools how your firm works; Anytime AI goes further with agents built to your workflows.
- Geography. PlaintiffStack supports California only.
If you're weighing the two, sort your last 50 signed cases by type. If most are nursing home, malpractice or catastrophic injury cases with thousands of pages of scanned records, Anytime AI's focus fits that docket. If most are auto and premises cases mixed with comp and employment matters in California, one system with deadline checks across all three practices will likely save more time.
Pricing
Anytime AI doesn't publish prices; it offers an ROI calculator and a demo. PlaintiffStack is $250 per case, every app included, with no monthly fee and no long lock-in contract. AI usage is billed separately: each tool shows an estimated cost before it runs, and how usage is billed is part of your quote. Because Anytime AI works alongside your case management system, compare its cost plus your CMS against PlaintiffStack alone. See pricing.
Who should pick which
Pick Anytime AI if your docket leans toward complex, records-heavy injury cases, you want custom agents, and you're keeping SmartAdvocate, Litify or another system. Pick PlaintiffStack if you're a California firm that wants one system for PI, comp and employment at a published price. Before choosing any AI vendor, run our legal AI security checklist.
Questions firms ask
No. It works with your existing system, naming SmartAdvocate and Litify, and syncs files from it. PlaintiffStack is a case management system with AI built in.
Anytime AI focuses on those cases and offers negligence and staffing analysis. PlaintiffStack doesn't ship med mal as a built-in practice; firms can add it in Customize, but the rules and tools are built for California PI, comp and employment.
Not yet. Agents read searchable PDFs, Word and text files; scans and faxes aren't read.
Its site lists HIPAA compliance but doesn't mention a BAA; ask directly. PlaintiffStack signs a BAA with every firm before any client data arrives.
