Intake and lead managementReviewed
Lead Docket alternatives for plaintiff firms
Lead Docket is intake and lead management CRM for law firms that want to capture, follow up and convert leads, with a native sync to Filevine. Here is what else firms weigh, and what each one is best for.
Why firms look beyond Lead Docket
- Pricing is quote-only, so a firm can't compare cost without a sales call (Lead Docket's pricing page).
- It is a second system: leads live in Lead Docket and cases live elsewhere, joined by an integration that has to be mapped and maintained (Lead Docket integrations page).
- Its deepest integration is with its owner. Filevine said in 2020 that it would tighten the Lead Docket integration and build lead management into Filevine itself, which matters to firms on other case systems (LawNext).
- Firms consolidating tools look for intake inside their case system rather than a separate CRM subscription.

Choosing an alternative to Lead Docket
Law Ruler, Lawmatics and Captorra are the closest standalone intake tools. Each captures and follows up with leads and hands signed clients to a case management system. The other route is intake inside the case system, which is how PlaintiffStack works.
Lawmatics lists integrations with Clio, MyCase, Filevine, Smokeball, PracticePanther and, since March 2026, SmartAdvocate. Captorra lists transfers to Needles, TrialWorks, Filevine and SmartAdvocate, among others. Law Ruler offers an open API with no API fee.
It depends on where your leads come from. A firm buying leads from many web and ad sources benefits from automatic capture and source ROI. A firm whose leads come mostly by phone and referral may do better with intake on the same record as the case, and one fewer system to keep in sync.
