AI drafting and medical recordsReviewed
Finch alternatives for plaintiff firms
Finch is AI-assisted outsourced pre-litigation team for personal injury firms that want to outsource pre-litigation work. Here is what else firms weigh, and what each one is best for.
Why firms look beyond Finch
- Some firms prefer their own staff to speak with clients and adjusters.
- Finch serves personal injury only, so comp and employment cases need another path.
- Prices aren't published, which makes comparing against in-house staff harder before a call.
- State coverage is still expanding; firms need to confirm Finch covers their state.
The options
- 1.
PlaintiffStack
Case management and AI on one record- Built for
- High-volume plaintiff firms in California: personal injury, workers' comp and employment
- Price
- $250 per case, every app included, no monthly fee. AI usage is billed separately, with an estimate shown before each run.
- Bottom line
- Our own product, listed first because this is our page. It is young and California-only, and it doesn't read scanned records yet.
- 2.
EvenUp
AI demand letters, medical chronologies and outsourced pre-lit- Built for
- Personal injury firms, from small practices to the largest PI firms in the country
- Price
- EvenUp doesn't publish prices. It moved to per-case pricing in 2025 and sells Pre-Litigation as a Service (PLAAS) as a subscription; it reported more than $10M in PLAAS subscriptions sold during testing. Third-party and competitor estimates put a standard demand around $300, rising to $500-$800 or more with add-ons. Treat those as estimates and ask for a written quote.
- Bottom line
- EvenUp is the most established AI vendor in personal injury, with years of demand data, human reviewers and now an outsourced pre-litigation service. PlaintiffStack is a younger, California-only case management platform for PI, workers' comp and employment, priced per case. Firms that want to hand off demand or pre-lit work should look hard at EvenUp; firms that want one system of record with AI inside it, run by their own staff, should look at PlaintiffStack.
- 3.
Supio
Agentic AI for medical records, chronologies and demands- Built for
- Personal injury and mass tort plaintiff law firms
- Price
- Supio doesn't publish prices; its site sends buyers to a demo. Third-party roundups describe quote-based pricing, per seat or bundled. Ask for the full cost, including any per-case or volume terms, in writing.
- Bottom line
- Supio is a well-funded AI platform for PI and mass tort firms that works on top of the case management system you already have, with Westlaw research and a strong records and damages product. PlaintiffStack is a younger case management platform for California PI, workers' comp and employment, with AI inside it. Keep your CMS and add Supio if you like your system; consider PlaintiffStack if you want to replace the system and you practice in California.
- 4.
Eve
AI operating layer for plaintiff firms (EveOS)- Built for
- Plaintiff firms in personal injury, employment, medical malpractice, disability and workers' comp
- Price
- Eve doesn't publish prices; its site directs buyers to a demo. Third-party roundups describe per-seat or enterprise quotes. Get the full cost, including agents and intake, in writing.
- Bottom line
- Eve is a fast-growing, well-funded AI platform for plaintiff firms that covers more practice areas than most, including employment, and sits over your existing case management system. PlaintiffStack is a younger case management platform with AI inside it, built only on California rules. Eve suits firms that want broad AI agents across a national practice; PlaintiffStack suits California firms that want the system of record and its AI in one place at a published price.
- 5.
Tavrn
Medical records retrieval, with chronologies and demands- Built for
- Law firms, hospitals and health tech companies that need records from outside providers
- Price
- Tavrn's site offers a demo and doesn't list prices. A third-party roundup reports medical retrieval plans starting at $299.99 a month for 20 requests, with chronologies and demands quoted separately; treat that as an estimate. Provider fees are posted as case costs.
- Bottom line
- Tavrn's core is getting medical records, bills, imaging and reports from providers across the US, then building chronologies and demands from them. PlaintiffStack is a California case management platform that tracks requests and reads what comes back but doesn't retrieve records for you. The two do different jobs, and a firm could reasonably use both.
- 6.
Filevine
Configurable case management with the LOIS AI suite- Built for
- Law firms of many sizes and practice types, legal teams and agencies, with personal injury among its core markets
- Price
- Not published: Filevine quotes each firm by headcount and modules. Third-party estimates put seats at roughly $65 to $100 per user per month and implementation at $5,000 to $20,000, and comparisons say AI tools such as MedChron are sold as add-ons. A free LOIS tier, LOIS Explore, launched in July 2026.
- Bottom line
- Filevine is a mature, deeply configurable platform with a large partner network, a SOC 2 Type II audit and a fast-growing AI suite. PlaintiffStack is younger and narrower: California PI, workers' comp and employment on one record, page-cited AI and a published per-case price. Choose Filevine for configurability and multi-state reach; choose PlaintiffStack for California depth and a simpler price.
Choosing an alternative to Finch
EvenUp's PLAAS is the closest: AI plus EvenUp's own case managers. Supio and Eve sell AI software and agents rather than staff. Tavrn handles records retrieval. PlaintiffStack is case management software with AI for your own team.
If your limit is headcount, an outsourced team adds capacity fastest. If your limit is wasted time, software that drafts, tracks and checks deadlines makes the staff you have go further. Many firms try a pilot of each on a small batch of cases.
Finch is PI only. PlaintiffStack ships California workers' comp with a benefits audit, QME documents and IMR deadline checks for your own team to use.
